Parramatta Park Cafe and Parramatta Park Event Centre are both located within the “Old Visitors Centre” building in historic Parramatta Park.
Opened in 2005 the cafe and the event centre have enjoyed an increasing interest by both locals and those further afield as a venue that can offer an excellent dining experience along with a tranquil, picturesque setting.
The diverse nature of our venue enables us to serve anything from a casual, relaxed breakfast to a sit down three course dinner for up to 190 people.
Parramatta Park Event Centre has built a solid reputation & client base due to its panache, style and precision.
The centre is available for functions any evening of the week and is ideal for cocktail parties, formal or informal dinners, product launches, weddings and indeed, a variety of events. For the early starters, breakfast meetings are also an option.
The Parramatta Park Cafe and Event Centre are located in a part of Parramatta known as “Little Coogee” which was a very popular swimming and picnic area as far back as the 1880’s.
In 1905 The Parramatta Park Trust gave a local swimming club permission to swim in the river granted they erected a dressing shed and conformed to the bathing rules of the time.
Little Coogee grew in popularity. It was home to the Olympic Carnival of 1914 amongst other events and by 1926 bus services from Guildford were available to bring people to “little Coogee” for a swim.
Many of our patrons still remember when they would come with their family to Little Coogee for a refreshing swim in the hot summer months. At present, it provides park and cafe users with a tranquil, picturesque spot along which to enjoy their recreational activities.
